Mendeola Transaxles sells more MD4-2D units than any other model, affectionately known by trans builders and duners alike as the ‘2D.’ The 2D is the most used aftermarket transaxle in the recreation vehicle market. Almost every sand buggy and off-road chassis manufacturer has the 2D available on their line as standard equipment or an option. There are three choices of ring and pinion ratios combined with 17 main shaft sets (1st and 2nd), thirteen 3rd gears and twenty 4th gears making this model a ‘Universal Fit.’
MD4-2D Transaxle Options:

· 935 Drive stubs (both 8620 and 300M)
· Reverse rotation ring and pinions, 4.86 and 5.42 Honda or Corvair
· Pro-drag conversion (supplied with spool)
